We found out right before Christmas that we will be having a little girl!!! The sonogram went beautifully and she is healthy and very active. The sonographer was having a hard time taking measurements and pictures because our little one kept twisting and turning in somersaults!
Her name will be Heidi Marion (Heidi being a name that we've both loved for a long time and Marion being my grandfathers name). Matt and I couldn't be more thrilled! This is a big deal in the Smith family because in six generations of Smiths, there has only been one other girl. To prove my point, when we told Matt's grandfather we were having a girl, he replied "Wow...that's hard to do!" Here's Heidi's first picture (sorry it's so blurry...our scanner isn't cooperating today):
And here I am with my 20 week belly:
The first thing I did after finding out we were having a girl was to hit the fabric shop for some fabrics to start her first little baby quilt. It was so strange for me to be looking at the pink and red fabrics. I kept drifting back to the blues since all of our friends have little boys as well. This was my first time to ever shop for a little girl!
