We started officially potty training Tobin last week. He's been ready for a while now but I just haven't been ready myself to tackle this mountain. He did AMAZING! After just a couple of days, he had it down. Yesterday was the five dry days mark and to celebrate, we got him a couple of hermit crabs. He's fascinated by every kind of animal he sees. He's been especially interested in crabs ever since Matt and I devoured them at Joe's Crab Shack for Matt's birthday. He also has a couple of books where he pours over the crabs. Anyway...we got him a crab that has Winnie the Pooh painted on the shell, and the other has a green frog on it. He LOVES them and is very proud of his new pets.

Toddler Guitar Hero
So, I'm new at the video uploading thing and our camera only takes 10 seconds at a time. Still...I couldn't pass up on Tobin's version of Guitar Hero:

Super Tobin
Tobin loves to dress up and also loves to pretend he's a super hero. Last weekend, I made him a hero's cape to help join these two loves. Here's the result:Showing off his muscles. He gets a serious look on his face and says in a loud voice: "I'm super Tobin, with the power to help!" How's that for creative mothering in getting my toddler to clean up toys or do toddlerish chores around the house?!? I must say I'm a little proud of myself on that one! :)
Here's the back of the cape as he's running/flying down the hall.
We are having a great time having Matt officially off for the summer. Throughout June he was busy teaching his Upward Bound class at UNT plus getting involved with his volleyball coaching. This is the first week we haven't had anything scheduled and it's been wonderful! On Friday, we're going to get the moped we've been planning on getting. Matt will ride it to and from work next year in an effort to save gas money, do a little to help the environment, and to have fun while we're at it! This is the one we want:
Cute, huh? I think it's awesome and will be so fun to tootle around town in!

The Great Outdoors
Last week we went to Bass Pro Shops and Cabellas to get things that Matt needed for a weekend fishing trip with his buddies. I've never been to either store so I felt like a tourist taking pictures on a vacation. It was a fun day for all of us!We ended up getting a stuffed fish for Tobin's "camping" bedroom. The first thing Matt does when we get home is attack the dogs with the fish. I just think this picture is funny because it looks like the dogs are about to be eaten by a gigantic live fish.
